Daryl Jones

Bio: Born in Fresno, California and moved to Tehama County in 1979. I was raised most of my life in Red Bluff with a small stint in Modesto, Calif. After high school (Red Bluff High & Modesto Beyer High) I began a 23 year journey in ministry in the areas of youth, music and pastoral administration. It was during these early years of ministry where I married my junior high sweetheart (Jenny) who partnered with me for God’s kingdom journey.

Jenny and I have four amazing kids, (Jacklyn, Gracie, Aiden and Landon) who all love God and are unique by His design. We love them and love to hang out with them! I am looking at completing my master’s degree at A.W. Tozer Seminary in Redding in 2016 and Jenny is an educator at Lassen View School in Dairyville.

Our family has been active at First Christian Church since September of 2014 and loves the church family God has placed us in. We are excited for the journey of ministry ahead and have a passion for seeing the body of Christ discipled in the Word, small/cell group growth in the years to come and the church living in the encouraging HOPE, that only Christ can bring to our lives.

Hobbies: Anything with my family! Coffee (Prior to back surgeries) Dirt bike riding, water sports and anything edgy! Coffee.  (Post-surgeries) Gardening, hiking with family and friends and enjoying coffee with family and friends. Did I mention coffee?

Bio: I was born in New Haven, Connecticut then moved to Syosset, NY. My family then moved to West Wareham, MA. I graduated from Rochester Regional High School then went to the University of MA, Amherst, where I received my Associates Degree of Science in Landscape Construction. I worked for a landscape design/build firm for 4 years.

I met my wife Alisha after high school graduation (2001) while she worked as a live-in nanny for the summer and attended the church where my father is pastor. During the school year, she lived in Redding, CA. We married July 1, 2005 at Mountain Meadows Camp in Shingletown, CA. We moved to Tehama County (Cottonwood) in March 2006. We have two energetic sons Parker and Weston and one entertaining daughter, Violet.

I led a Bible study during my high school years and was involved with youth group at my church. During college, I was active in Campus Crusade for Christ where I led worship music, attended leadership training, did mentoring and campus evangelism. For two years prior to coming to FCC, I was a youth pastor intern in Redding, CA where I worked with kids through youth group, events and mentoring relationships.

The Lord called my family and me to FCC in February 2009. I have the privilege to lead worship and work with the youth in Red Bluff. It has been an amazing few years watching our youth grow and how supportive our church body is of them. I continue to be blessed being a part of God’s work here at FCC and the Red Bluff community!

Hobbies: Hanging out with my family, anything outdoors, playing and watching sports (Red Sox and Patriots), movies, music, technology, and writing/playing music.

My Heroes (after Jesus): My dad. He has always taught me to be persistent in life and answered my countless questions on faith and Christianity. He attended almost every event I was involved in growing up. He is a true man of God that I aspire to be like!

Life Verses: 1 Corinthians 10:31 and Philippians 3:7-11.
